Stump Removal

Depending on the size and species of the felled tree, stumps can be several feet across and may extend 10-15 feet deep in the ground. Lateral roots are often as large as the largest tree branches and can extend outward up to 75 feet or more.

Many stump grinding companies offer "Stump Removal" but this is not a fully accurate description of the work being done. Stump grinding only removes the top layer of wood. This will lead to sinkholes as the wood naturally decomposes and settles over time. Grading and levelling an area where the top layer of a stump has been removed is impossible because most of the stump is still left in the ground.

No foundation should ever be poured where the top layer of a stump has been ground away - the remaining bulk of the stump will rot in time, causing your house or driveway foundation to fail. An honest stump grinder will tell you this!

I offer total stump removal. My process involves digging the entire stump and lateral root system and hauling it away. After removing your stumps the hole is filled with dirt.
